Nine Lives Festival Highlights
SPEAKER_03So uh this past weekend, the three of us went to the Nine Lives Paranormal Festival at Stockton. Stockton University.
SPEAKER_02So Stockton University. Yes. That was really pretty cool. Yeah, it was. It was bigger than I thought. I thought it was gonna be bigger, honestly. Well, when I saw that it was in Stockton, I didn't think it was gonna be that big of a venue. You know what I mean? Right. But we got there super early. Yeah, we did. We got there just because everything was like, where are you getting? But then when we left, we left at what, like three o'clock or something like that? Yeah, and there was a lot more people still.
SPEAKER_03There were some people rolling in at that time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. It was at five though.
SPEAKER_03That's a thing. I was thinking like Comic-Con size. I don't know. That's what I thought. If it was at the Jav, it's hope. Yeah, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was not, I wasn't expecting that big. I thought it was gonna be more in like a smaller venue, like I said, you know, but it was funny. It was still cool. It was cool, it was groovy.
SPEAKER_03I was kind of hoping a little more UFO stuff, to be honest. But I, you know, it was more paranormal. More paranormal. It was foot, big foot, there was some Bigfoot stuff there. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Bigfoot, uh, the ghost hunting, right? The Ouija boards, bro. The freaking the museum with Ouija boards. Yo, that shit was insane. I didn't know there was that many Ouija boards. Well, but it I think it was just the theme of the Ouija board itself.
SPEAKER_03I don't know that many types existed. I thought I just thought one. The Walt Disney one was crazy.
SPEAKER_02The Walt Disney one, so it for everybody listening and watching, they had, like I said, different themes of the the Ouija boards. So there was the um, like you said, the Walt Disney one, so you know, like Walt Disney Letters and Mickey Mouse and stuff like the other characters on there. They had the Chucky one uh play. They you made Tom or you make it, but Tom opened up. This one says, Yeah, yeah. I wouldn't know.
SPEAKER_03I don't need a ghost to tell me what position that's exactly. You wouldn't be happy as what are you gonna be?
KenyIt was all the sexual positions.
SPEAKER_03What else is the ghost gonna be doing? Is he gonna be watching? Well, you saw Scared Moody. Yeah, they had like a red light coming out of it. Yeah, oh dude, that would be fun. You know what though? I have to say, if there's ever like some kind of UFO festival, I want to go.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no doubt. Yeah, hell yeah. Well, except the one in in what's it called? Oh, I left my wallet, dude. We have to give a shout out to the girls that uh we bought oh for our shirts. Yes, we got the t-shirts, yeah. We got the um so we'll put them in the we'll tag them in the in the global. We'll put it in there. Yeah. But I just received my shirts.
KenyThey they she mailed me my shirts, right? Yeah, she kept me in communication with me the whole time as far as uh letting me know what this you know where safe she was at. And it was like in the next day or so I got them.
SPEAKER_02I was like, uh Yeah, that's the thing cool. Yeah, no, and the girl that I bought the juice from, yo, dude, the fucking juices were great. And she does a protein one. I know you and I had a shot. Did you take a look? No, I didn't zoom one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it just has like a regular sugar, a regular soda one. Yeah. Then we got those drinks. And they came with the little alien.
KenyWhich is right, the little alien. It was a nice pink drink I got. It was nice, yeah.
SPEAKER_02They were non-alcoholic. No, but they were good. They were like supposedly It were like margaritas, you know, without the And she had a different name for each one. Mocktail. They were like mouthtails.
KenyYeah, right, right, right. Yeah, so we'll put all them, their names. They tasted really good, too. They were she was right outside the doorway. So the next place, if they're I'm assuming they go from venue to venue, yeah, and usually they're outside the building. Right. Uh you'll see her outside, uh serving memory, you know, drinks and stuff. And then there was uh the car out front as well. Right, from Supernatural. That's right, from Supernatural and the music playing. And some uh seriously in the back. Very you've never seen standing outside.
SPEAKER_02This guy trying not to make him talk about no, but but you ever see did you ever watch the show Supernatural?
KenyYou know, I didn't. I have to be honest with you.
SPEAKER_02I've seen it.
SPEAKER_03I've seen like episode, not full episodes.
SPEAKER_02I'd seen well, the car. And every time I think so supernatural with the brothers, they would team, and they would go out and you know, ghost hunting and deep thing, whatever else. So in the trunk, when they popped the trunk open, they would hit that other. That's what all the stuff was when you looked at it. They would open up the trunk uh where the tires would be, and when you open that up, they had all their stuff hanging. Oh, it's like weapons and things like that. All the different kinds of weapons. So they had the, you know, the the Really, the spike for the for vampires. They had the crosses for, you know, whatever else, and the silver bullets and the nifty ass guns and the blessed, you know, bullets and the guns and water and stuff.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the character had that in the show, in his trunk. He had a side.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he had it in the trunk. That's why what it was open, that's why the trunk was open at the thing last week. Because it was just all the shit that they had in there. So it was a good replica, man. The car sounded sexy too. Cause I don't know, I don't know if you guys paid attention to. He has turned it on. That just said when we got there, right? They had just turned it on, like boom, blah, blah, blah, but oh it was beautiful.
KenyYeah, it was interesting things.
SPEAKER_03We met that one guy, the one who did the sketches, right?
SPEAKER_02Just said dreams from his childhood. So you paid attention to what he was saying. From when he was 13 years old, right? He used to, you know, he would have dreams or he would see people. So he was drawing, celebrating of what he had, what he had been seeing through the years, you know, and I was like, okay, okay. He wasn't like, and then he told them about that. He was he had done uh he was doing a uh uh arch uh class. Yeah, I'm like, what are you teaching him? Like that's fine. I know it was bad, but you know, things, you know. Oh man, yeah, he's gonna be listening to that podcast.
KenyYeah, that's wrong, bro. Listen, he had interesting stories.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but his stories were better than his listen, we hang out with him, but don't don't discuss it.
KenyYeah, he's gonna own our hands.
SPEAKER_02It was cool. I'll just make him funny in all honesty. I mean, he did pretty cool. He has said he had the sketches of all the shrines look way larger better than I could draw. Oh, yeah, no, no doubt, no doubt. I love that.
SPEAKER_03I love some interesting stories.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he did, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Because he said he goes to be and he hangs out the fucking cemetery. Yeah, he said he I forget what cemetery in Queens he said he was, but he he said back when the baby cemeteries, you know, he said back in the 80s, he goes, you know, you couldn't go to the parks because there was just needles and shit all over the place. So people go to the cemetery because it was clean and it'd be a cool place to hang out. Right, right. Yeah, peaceful, you know, no druggies hanging out.
KenyFucking parks you were. That's what I'm saying. What the fuck? Because I, you know, yeah, with Hallington and Beds Nurse, which is right as Borough Park, Brooklyn's right. You have to have parks, we had parks. Yeah, we went to all those. Parks in Queensworth's than Brooklyn, maybe no.
SPEAKER_02And it bro, listen, I thought we all had its own shit as far as what area you knew that wasn't good. Right. But still, it we still had some cool stories that he saw and whatnot.
KenyBut there was people getting high and doing whatever and all that other shit, but I don't think to that extreme, not at least that I have to. Yeah, I don't remember ever being that, but whatever. Either way, just still just kicking needles, I should have.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. Well, I remember Cody Island was like that for a while under the boardwalk. Wow. It was like that.
KenyWell, now it's you know, it's the boardwalk has funny sticks. Now the sand is all the way up to the top, yeah, uh up to the bottom of the boardwalk. It never used to be like that. Yeah. It used to be walk on the top erosion and stuff. You walk down the stairs to go to the sand.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I mean yes to you, but no to you. It wasn't because of the erosion. Oh, they put that there. They did it because they had to block everybody from boarding under there. So any given time, the kids are on the sand, you know, we would be running back and forth, and you would see some people underneath the either, you know, they were either shooting up or sleeping, or they were sleeping like the homeless, yeah, or there was some dude that had nothing. So the beach was a big one. The beach was a big one for the show.
KenyYeah, that was nuts.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Brighton, too, because it was the same board boardwalk. The same boardwalk all the way down. Yeah. And if you kept walking over the rocks, you'd end up in Manhattan Beach. Right. So, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, look at the grim, yeah, because yeah, I was there, you remember that. Manhattan Beach, that's right. Yeah. But yeah, no, but I played baseball for Seagate.
KenyOh, did you? My first baseball team. No shit. Yeah. That's great. In Seagate, yeah, it was wrong. We were on L.
SPEAKER_02Seagate. It was all the company in in Coney Island. Just as little, and it was small houses, but I think that's where Tiny House Nation came from. Possibly. They were all little houses. But it was nice little, it was a nice neighborhood though.
KenyThat's cool. It was a nice neighborhood though. Yeah, yeah. It was a great man. I had its own park, it had a pool. You know, I went to I actually went to uh camp there as well. No kidding. Yeah. That's great.
SPEAKER_03And of course, you know, I had to, we had to make a pit stop. I had to go to the quick stock from I had to bring him there. We just we went in there and we bought energy drinks or whatever. And it's funny because I have uh I have a credit card sticker that I put on top of my car. It's a blockbuster sticker, and the guy working there, he's like, We always have a video store next to ours. Yeah, no. I just pictured the scene where we're gonna. Yeah, we should have taken a picture while we were there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We should have. We've we were like, oh, we're gonna take a bunch of pictures. We took like three pictures the whole fucking time. I have them on my phone.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, I mean, yeah, you did. You took the picture. We didn't take a picture at the quick stop, though.
KenyThat would yeah, that would have been nice if we've all seen in front of that store. That's it.
SPEAKER_02You twisted my arm. That's right.
KenyYeah, fucking. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's fucking hilarious. Yeah, we gotta you have a black trench coat, you could be silent, Bob. Yeah, one. Did you have one? You got one. I used to. I'm yeah. A trench coat? Yeah. We'll take your bathrobe.
KenyOr we could just do our own thing and just, you know, I'll get a bathrobe, be our own silly selves in front of the place and do that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, silly selves. I'm just saying, silly selves. That was it. I say that ten times fast. Silly self, silly self. Yeah, no, but it was a good day, man. We had fun that day. Yeah.
KenyOh, that food truck was good too, man. That chicken was no joe, it was off the hook. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, he those fries were awesome. The fries were fat fucking tight. Those were good.
KenyBut they were cut and fried. Those potatoes were fresh. Coming out of a bag. Fresh titers. Yes. Right. My mother used to make French fries when I was a kid. Yeah. And then, of course, I wound up learning how to do it. And then I used to make fries. I like French fries, a little sold up. My mother used to fucking drown that shit. I just liked a little bit, not a lot.
SPEAKER_04We used to uh just sprinkle. Remember when I was when I was in I went to vocational school and they had the color name code on this type of machine where you just put the potatoes in it and it would just make fries.
KenyIt would just like oh my mother would cut them up, peel the potatoes, cut them up. At home, but like we had the machine. It was like a fresh. Right. And it just like pushed it right through. Yeah, that's pretty cool though. That's actually cool to have. Like the egg, uh, boiled eggs. Do that.
SPEAKER_02So hard boiled eggs, yeah.
KenyYou just slice them in half.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we got put on home three.
KenyYep, we have that too.
SPEAKER_02We have that. Yeah, I know. I think that's not a bad idea. I might do that tomorrow morning for breakfast. Like the French fries. I used to do my mom used to make French fries and Canadian bacon with eggs for for breakfast. Yeah, that's not a bad.
SPEAKER_01I just got hungry again.
KenyYeah. I know. Now I'm hungry again. But what was the last thing we did in there when we went? I'm trying to think. The last thing we did. When we left, before we left. See, we can't forget about yes, we picked up the t-shirts, right? And then of course the drag queens.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Oh, dude. Drag queens. Yeah, we didn't stay for the show because uh do the show would have been. No, they didn't.
KenyThey were getting started when we were leaving. Oh, they did. Yeah, because the show was supposed to be because they said.
SPEAKER_02And then they started uh, yeah, now they were doing it. Yeah, we were leaving, yeah. We didn't stop. Everything was kind of backed up because they had the speakers and stuff. Right. They were, oh, you know, we fucking forgot to do, bro. We didn't go to the room to see the movie. We didn't go back in there to see what they were doing. They were showing like a theater room, but they were showing like but what they weren't showing the movies, they weren't showing movies, they were showing paranormal investigations, like those hunting clips, is what they were showing in there. But we didn't but we stuck doing everything else. They had because they had the people when we walked through the haunted little walk. Oh, that's right. That was they had a fruit air company that actually sets up uh haunted walks or haunted for people's lawns and stuff and houses. That's a pretty cool idea.
SPEAKER_03You know what's cool? That guy that was selling the spirit boxes. He had all the spirit boxes. I like that. You know what's cool? He's he he said, you know, someone gave him an idea because you know that he said, you know, you get you get a lot of false positives on them because you know it's their motion sensors, and like, you know, it's supposed to pick up motion from you know any being that's there. And but he said you get a lot of false positives. So someone have the idea, why don't you put something on there that like you physically have to touch? So he put a little fucking hotel bell on top of it. So like if a spe if you hear that and there's no one in the room, you know.
KenyNo, that's yeah, because basically she was being honest, you know, something could set it off. There could be an energy of something you know, if you take a if you take a um a cricket, an electric cricket, yeah, and you walk underneath certain power lines, right? Like Dulson Avenue in Bro in middle of town. Mike showed me this. He goes, Why's this little? He takes out his cricket and he goes, and it starts going off because of the power lines going across. That's how much energy is coming off of it. Oh, yeah. That that is picking up. It has a field. Right.
SPEAKER_03Because it just picks up the field about the wire. Right. So high voltage large fields. Bam.
SPEAKER_02I'm like, holy shit. Well, don't I mean I'm changing the subject again because this is what we do. Right. So a bunch of years ago, people that were living underneath, and I think I want to say it was Jeremy.
KenyThey were, yeah, there was with lawsuits and stuff, people saying they're getting cancer.
SPEAKER_02It was in Jersey somewhere in South Jersey, and they had the big power lines that were going by, and that it was going over a town and that the people had gotten sick, like cancer or whatever. Right, yeah, yeah. Yeah, like 20 years ago, bro, or better. That's why. Yeah.
KenyI remember that. Yeah, I remember that that was interesting. Yeah, but it's not only that, it wasn't Jersey. I think there was a several places in the United States that had lines, power lines going through their property or things like that. And they fucked people up. I shouldn't laugh, but I'm thinking a Tommy boy.
SPEAKER_03I mean, did you live under power line? Oh, yeah, yeah. Why?
Cemeteries And Old NYC Memories

SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. Exactly. That's the whole idea. Yeah. So then now, you know, you saying that, you know, it makes sense. Yeah, you know. But then too, you know, we make talk to Bob Tesla and he believed in, you know, that's what his own.
KenyWell, you're talking about 369. Yeah, but he thought he can get free electric power to everybody. And they're starting, and they were actually testing stuff like that now. They're actually trying to redo it again and figure out how what it was he was.
SPEAKER_03They're trying to take his idea and do it on a giant scale now. They're they're talking about putting a giant satellite with a shitload of solar panels that's always facing the sun and gets high energy. And then they're saying maybe you want around the moment it could beam the power together. Right to one place. Yeah, that kind of stupid shit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I I I mean, he had it's in Long Island, the fucking Tesla tower with the original one, it's right there. Right. Long nylon. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? I'd like to see that. Yeah, no, that's not as bad. You know what? We could do that trip. Yeah, that's true.
KenyAnd he was ob the lever of the 369, which by the way, right? No, hey, 28 days. We're still doing them 28 days later. Yeah. So flick too, bro. Yeah, that was good.

KenyIt's like a mantra in my head now, almost like I'm just doing it. And so as I'm writing, I'm saying it as I'm writing everything, you know. I've been on a I got a couple of another job interview that I went on. That was cool. So, but again, I was already in the process of doing that, so I can't say that that had anything to do with it. So I'm kind of waiting to see. I'm looking for something else because of the way I wrote it. To see how you know, yeah. But uh and then if anything negative, and a lot of shit just happened. Of course, I had some something like R, AC, right? So we like it was like one thing after another, like what the hell's going on here? Yeah. And I didn't allow myself to get sidetracked and allow that to fuck me up and be, you know, like fuck this, I'm not writing it anymore. That I just kept doing it. Yeah. And just saying it in my head, and you know, the way they they s describe it, you know, how people are doing it. So far, it I'm still doing it. But now I could I could say it off the top of my head, but no problem. Right away, I know what the you know, what it is. So we'll wait till the very end. I'm gonna go the whole 42 days, I think it was. Right? That's what you said. So we'll I'll do the whole 42 and see where we are when we get to the next podcast. We'll speak about it then. KenyWe had unfortunately some really good people pass away. Three of them right away.
SPEAKER_03Well, I think we're we're talking about some three, but still there's three in like two days. Yeah. Two in one day.
SPEAKER_02Two in one day. But we didn't find out till the second day. Right, right. Yeah. Yeah. So it was Dolly Parton and Tim Curry. Right. And then Peter Cullen. Right, Peter Cullen. Peter Cullen was the other one. Right. Yeah. And insane, bro. Like we're like, boom, boom, boom. Right. Like, what the fuck? What happened? You know, I you know, I I always make the the joke of uh not a joke that they passed, but like in men in black, you know, Elvis didn't really die if he went home. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah. Like that kind of shit, you know, because it's like when it happened so quick that I couldn't even process that it was happening that freaking fast. And these people like, what, what, what bug me the fuck out. And Dolly, she just had a new fucking alguma, bro.
KenyYeah. But she didn't tell anybody she was she was battling with cancer, so that's what it was. Right. Uh so she kept that to herself. She would have never known.
SPEAKER_03I would know Tim Curry had that stroke years ago.
KenyYeah.
SPEAKER_03What did they say? I didn't even I I didn't I wasn't even following, like I didn't have a chance to catch up to that. I didn't even find out what what caused his death, did he? Uh I would have a second stroke because I don't know.
KenyPossible. You know, that's a good question. I didn't, we you know, yeah, we could look it up right now and figure that out. But it's but I'm assuming he was getting old and he was already in bad shape as far as the soap with the stroke did. But he seemed like he was in conspiracy because there were a lot of interviews with him while he was in the wheel, you know, in a wheelchair and talking as a guest and doing it. No, it's awesome. You know, he was still talking about things.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he had a very accomplished career. Yeah, bro. Yeah, yeah, well. I know some i it's funny if you ask people what you know him from. It's like some people will be like, well, penny wise.
SPEAKER_03Some people would be like Rocky Horror Pictures. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The snotty guy at the hotel.
KenyAnd what about it though? He did this. I mean, do you know that there are people actually tying red balloons to sewer grates in memory of him? That is doing that. You see, that fuck, I don't know if I saw it. I mean, it was right in the leggo.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. No, so he didn't have there's the iconic actor Tim Curry passed away peacefully at his home. While an official cause of death was not immediately disclosed, he had uh faced significant health issues since surviving a severe stroke back in 2012. So we don't know yet. They haven't said exactly what it was, but I imagine it might be both of it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Unfortunately, you know, when people are are in that yeah, it's it's a bad four 14 years after a stroke. That's pretty good.
KenyYeah, yeah, yeah. I remember when it first happened, when he got a stroke, I was like, it sucks. Freaking insane, bro.
SPEAKER_02And you know, it it's uh we we think about when our parents, when they started to see a lot of the celebrities pass. Right. Now we're doing now we're getting in our like, oh my god, remember this.
KenyIt's our generation stuff that we grew up with. People just dropping like flies now. Yeah, freaking bananas.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's several every year.
KenyYeah, it's always and so far, and the year's not over. Yeah, no. We still got more to go, I'm sure. I mean, I hope not. Maybe maybe the list won't go anymore. You know what I'm saying? But um live forever. But you know, yeah, it's just it's just fucking insane. So, you know, I got I printed up some things for uh Dolly Parton. One of the most recognizable figures in American music, Dolly was far more than a country music singer. She wrote classic classics including Jolene, 9 to 5, and I Will Always Love You, which by the way, when Houston re-recorded and she uh made handsome money off of that. Hamson uh Her Imagination Library, which was dedicated to her dad because he was illiterate, he couldn't read. Oh no, she I didn't know that. Yeah. So she did that to make sure people had books and everything. And he sh uh I read a quote where it said, let me see, maybe you'll see here Billy Justorney. Uh uh, she did Dollywood through her imagination library, what which was distributed hundreds of millions of books to children. She died on August 25th at the age of 80.
SPEAKER_02And her husband just passed away like a year or two ago.
KenyYeah, he passed away first, right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well that happened. No, okay. We're like sorry, we're like uh especially people who are are really close close marriage, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Or yeah, white sooner, or vice versa, white guys. Yeah, one passes and the other one is like, you know, they say of loneliness or whatever. Yeah, yeah. Right. I'm like, yeah.
KenyI don't know.
SPEAKER_02That happens, no, it's sure. Yeah, I don't know. I say I was like, it'll be I'm just me being a dick. I'm like, yeah.

Penny Air was also a very talented young lady. She just did a lot of good movies and stuff. When someone has a talent like that, creative. It's amazing how they're able to tap into it. You know, and and and if they're lucky enough to to dwell on their livelihood, you know, that's what all of us wish for, right? When you think about it, you're like, wow, it's amazing. How do the things you can just hear something, look at it, all of this, you know, and put it with something.
SPEAKER_03I think that people seem to forget about voice actors is that not only can they do voices, but they also have to create those voices, right? And figure out things. And not to sidetrack from Peter Cullin, but we'll talk about Mark Hamill, how he came up with the voice of the Joker. Right. Like he had to come up with that voice. Like a voice actor also has to have talent to come up with these characters and voices. They have to look at a sketch or a drawing and go, What would the sound like? And they nail it.

Yeah, no doubt. Yeah, if you ever watch that show original, if you ever get like just yeah, let me see what that is, you're gonna bug out. Yeah, really. Because people were naming songs that wanted to. I do it now.

Yeah, we got a couple of state parks up here that I know that the eagles are in. If you go to Mohawk, you can go up on the mountain, you'll see them there too. Yeah, but I've never seen them.
